Financial gifts are the most flexible way to support Spero Center and every gift is much appreciated! We recognize the sacrifices people make to participate in the cause of saving lives. Therefore, we treat every gift given as a sacred trust, meaning, we never take any donation, large or small, lightly. We prayerfully and responsibly use every dollar given, recognizing that it is not our money, but God’s, and to be used for His purposes – serving women (and men) in difficult situations, offering hope, healing, and a new life! Your charitable donation provides the resources and tools necessary to fight for the lives of preborn children and their parents.
We rely entirely on donations from friends (individuals and churches). We are 501(c)3 non-political, non-profit, tax-exempt Christian medical and educational ministry staffed mostly by volunteers.
Ways to Give:
- One-Time Gift – One-time gifts of any amount enable Spero to continue providing all our services at NO COST. We do not benefit from a client’s pregnancy decision, nor do we receive government money. All of our income comes from individuals, churches and businesses that believe in what we do.
- Monthly Pledge – Monthly pledges are the backbone of financial support for Spero. Knowing what to expect each month helps us to budget, plan for the future and meet unexpected expenses. You can send a check each month, donate online, or set up automatic bill payments so you don’t even have to think about it.
- Event Underwriting – This is a great way for local businesses and individuals to support a cause while also receiving advertising. Whether it’s underwriting our annual banquet or one of our smaller events, you will be thanked and acknowledged for your support. By Martin Doorn, Founder, EMCF, Owner WGRT
Our community is blessed with many wonderful faith based non-profit ministries. One of the most successful, Spero Pregnancy Center, celebrated the opening of their new state-of-the-art facility in 2012. Jennifer MacDonald has been the executive director of the center since 2005. Under her able leadership, the center was completed on time, within budget, and is debt free.
Spero Pregnancy Center was instrumental in forming the Eastern Michigan Christian Foundation (EMCF). In partnership with our local Community Foundation, EMCF facilitates opportunities for people like you to participate in Legacy & Planned giving for the Pregnancy Center. Seven local faith based ministries have partnered together to make this new group a reality.
As you consider what to do with your estate, we invite you to consider leaving a lasting gift to Spero Pregnancy Center. Our faith community is known for an amazing level of generosity. However, we have not been as successful about securing the long term future of our favorite ministries after we are gone.
You can leave a lasting gift by:
- giving today,
- arranging for an RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) or a QCD (Qualified Charitable Distribution),
- naming Spero as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy, or
- leaving Spero (& EMCF) in your will or estate plan.
